Are you RV Electrical Ready?

What do I need to do?

What is the RV Electrical Ready Website?

Electrical legislation in each state and territory jurisdiction requires recreational vehicle installations to comply with the following Australian Standards:

The foundational standards for your Recreational Vehicle electrical installation are:

  • AS/NZS 3000:2018 Electrical installations
(known as the Australian/New Zealand Wiring Rules)
  • Plus the extra requirements and variations prescribed in
AS/NZS 3001 series (2022) Electrical Installations – Connectable electrical installations and supply arrangements.

In practical terms this means where AS/NZS 3001.2 is silent on any matter, the AS/NZS 3000 requirements apply.

Electrical installation work must be completed by a “competent person”, as defined by each local state and territory jurisdiction.

Verification and testing of an electrical installation must be completed in line with Section 6 of AS/NZS 3001.2.  Verification and testing must be completed by a “competent person”, as defined by each local state and territory jurisdiction.
